The fact that it was below zero while camping up at Gwillim Lakes over the weekend is a sure sign that summer is losing it's grip and winter is getting ready to move in. Because of this we have been taking advantage of every last opportunity to get out and enjoy what is left and also get our last few "off-season" gear reviews wrapped up before we switch modes into winter gear reviews.

So what's coming down the pipe in the next few weeks? One of our female reviewers has been thoroughly beating on a pair of Vasque Bitterroot Gore-Tex hiking boots while another has been testing out Teva's new Zilch sandals. There is not much to the Zilch sandals but that seems to be the idea!

We have been tracking all of our mountain miles with a new Suunto Ambit GPS watch that so far has really impressed and also seems to keeps those under 10 informed of just how many more vertical feet and kilometers the tent site really is.

Keep an eye out for these over the next few weeks in addition to some mountaineering products from Black Diamond like the Couloir Harness, Storm Headlamp and Venom Ice Axe. We also have the Kelty Red Cloud 80 Pack, Sierra Designs Eleanor 20Hi DriDown sleeping bag and the Flipside bike rack from Yakima on deck, as well as a few others for you.

Enjoy your last few weekends of summer bliss and get ready for a three-peat of the last few season's powder performance (we hope!).
