We headed out behind the Lake on friday to ski Mt. St. Piran in the sun. We had a nice easy tour up, putting on our ski crampons at tree line. Got to the top with some amazing views! We waited around a while hoping the snow would "corn up" more but were forced down due to cold winds. Despite the winds, the skiing was pretty good and we had a great run down back to the summer trail.

Once back at the trail we decided to ski over across Lake Agnes and boot pack up to the col beside the Big Bee Hive in hopes of some more turns on the way down. Unfortunately the snow on that aspect was too soft by the time we got there and we decided the head down through the trees until we hit the summer trail instead(we had been aiming for some avi paths visible on Google Earth). It turns out that what this actual meant was over an hour of bushwacking only to discover that when we found the avi paths they are unskiiable at this and possible all times of the year. Things did get better once we found the summer trail followed it to valley bottom and skied back along the lake. All in all quite the adventure. Luckily for us my 60 year old dad who was with us is a great sport!
