NUTRITION

Energy Gels, bars, goos, tablets, powders and more, with electrolytes and who-knows-what-else, are now available to give us quick and easy-to-ingest nutrition and energy hits in the backcountry. Hey—we all get hungry, right? When in the backcountry, we have to eat even if we aren’t hungry. You know the old saying: “if you are thirsty, it may be too late”? Same applies for food. When ski touring, a body burns up many, many calories. Lucky for us, all kinds of products, liquid and solid, are now available to keep our engines burning so we can climb up for that extra lap. The manufacturers have also figured out that we like different, tasty flavours and organic ingredients. Check it all out here in our nutrition area. Hopefully, gone are the days of choking back weird tasting, “sawdust” bars to maintain our oomph.
