Next seasons gear from Mountain Hardwear at the 2013 SIA Show - VIDEO
Mountain Hardwear had plenty to show us when we visited them at the 2013 SIA Show in Denver a few weeks back. The highlights were the new 2013/2014 Mountain Hardwear Thermastatic Jacket, Mountain Hardwear Seraction Gloves and the Mountain Hardwear Powzilla Pack.
The Mountain Hardwear Thermastatic Jacket is a new mid layer piece that uses Mountain Hardwears proprietary Thermo Q Elite (their answer to primaloft). This keeps the jacket super warm and also super light at only 10 ounces. It includes brightly coloured water proof zips and the ability to pack down to almost nothing.
The Mountain Hardwear Seraction Gloves were another item we looked at, these were initially designed for ice climbing but we saw the potential for them to be a top notch ski touring glove given their light weight and great dexterity that they provide. There is no insulation on the underside of the glove so you get a tactile sense of what you are handling. To keep your digits warm, 60grams of Thermo Q Elite are utilized on the back of the glove. It's light weight, packable and warm.
And finally the Mountain Hardwear Powzilla Pack which is an ABS compatible pack. It does not come with the ABS technology but you can purchase it and use it with this pack. The pack has 30 litres of storage space with a dedicated skins pocket and an avi gear pocket. Both of these pockets have drains for when the pow isn't blower. It also has a dynamic ski carry system that offers multiple ways to efficiently carry your skis.
Have a look at the photos below of even more new gear coming out from Mountain Hardwear for next season:
