Next seasons gear sneak peek: BCA Scepter Carbon Aluminum Poles
Backcountry Access (BCA) is not one to rest on their laurels and new for next winter is their innovative BCA Sceptre Carbon Aluminum Poles. Whats so unique about a Carbon/Aluminum pole you may ask? Well it has to do with the weight you carry on your skis funnily enough. BCA consulted with experts to study the proportional effect of the snow that piles on your skis while ski touring. They found that one pound of snow on the foot/ski translates to four pounds of weight in a backpack. So BCA went about figuring out a simple solution for this problem. The solution is the Scepter Pole Grip which has a flat top grip that allows you to easily scrape snow off your ski’s top sheet to eliminate weight when breaking trail. Other features of the Scepter Carbon Aluminum Poles include a built in utility hook to facilitate switching over from ski mode to walk mode on your AT bindings and straps which are easily removed when needed.
