Avalanche Canada: Understanding the Spring Bulletin
Spring is an awesome time for ski touring, especially in places like The Rockies where more daylight and agreeable temperatures allow for big days. Kananaskis Public Safety just announced that they have concluded avalanche forecasts for the season. So if you do go skiing, be prepared for everything from powder to bears!Avalanche Canada has transitioned into their spring messaging, which includes a new icon for their danger rating as well as four types of conditions you’re likely to experience when travelling in the backcountry this time of year:
- Cold & Snowy
- Daily Melt-Freeze Cycles
- All Melt, No Freeze
- All Freeze, No Melt
