Are Timbersleds the next big thing?
Timbersled is the inventor of the "snow bike" which is essentially a modified dirt bike. The rear tire and drive train is replaced with a track similar to a snowmobile. Timbersled was founded in 2002 in Ponderay, Idaho where the company began by designing and selling aftermarket accessories for snowmobiles, their first snow bike creation was called the 'Mountain Horse snow bike'. Snow biking combines the speed and agility of a dirtbike with the terrain capabilities of a snowmobile. The 2010 introduction of the Timbersled bike conversion kit has revolutionized the snow bike industry and the sport is growing every year.
The following video shows the capabilities of a Timbersled snow bike and the skills of pro timbersledders, Brock Hoyer and Reagan Seig, and moto freeride legend Ronnie Renner, as they shred some tasty bowls and steep chutes in the Idaho backcountry.
