El Nino, La Nina - what is in store for us in 2011/2012 season?

Found this rather crude map on-line, mind you it was from a reputable weather site. So what does it all mean? Looks like our epic season of last year may not be a repeat again this year and perhaps those easterners are going to get hit hard in 2011/2012?

At any rate you can never bank on the weather - it does what it wants and even in an average year or a low year it is what you make it. I tend not to place much cred in these predictions as you can only be disapointed. Instead just get out backcountry skiing becuase you love it and not because it is "the best day ever!"  There will always be plenty of those - if you choose to make them.

Has anyone heard anything different?
