Ride Silver Star Bike Park while you can!
One sure sign that fall is officially here is that Silver Star Mountain Resort closes their bike park in preparation for the coming ski season. Full time down hill biking ended September 5th but they have remained open for two bonus weekends, the last of which is slated for Sept 17/18. After riding there this past weekend I’d highly recommend that anyone with a mountain bike head on out to take advantage of some high speed lift assisted biking while it lasts.

Silver Star is known for its long flowy trail network which has 600 berms and 300 jump features (apparently they’ve counted them). With over 1800ft of vertical, the trails are super long and seem never ending. Luckily you can always head back to the village for a quick snack or some lunch at any point via the Paradise trail.

Our crew spent two days riding berm and jump infested flowy trails such as Blast Off, World Cup, Rock Star, Super Star, Shazam, LTG and of course everyones favourite Jedi Mind Trick. Not being a über advanced rider I appreciated the healthy mix of blue and black trails. The confidence building jumps on the blue trails such as Super Star and Jedi Mind Trick kept a very prominent smile on the faces of everyone in our group. By the end of two days we were not only a little stiff and sore from so much riding but the personal riding improvements were easily visible.
Stunts and jumps for all level of riders and fears.
Silver Star boasts 50+ km of trails with 15% for beginners, 40% for intermediate riders and 45% for those more advanced. In addition to this there are also 30km of XC trails to enjoy if downhill ain’t your thang. With plenty of on-hill accommodation it’s easy to ride all day, then hot tub and relax trail side at night.
Silver Star's iconic base village has everything you need from high end accommodation down to a hostle for those on a budget.
The hours for the final weekend are 10:00am to 5:00 pm (last ride 4:45pm) on both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets cost $52.00 for the day for adults and $44 for little rippers.
Get on out there already!
