Grassy Hut
Just got back from Grassy Hut. Was a great 3 days in the Bonningtons.
The skin was a bit of a slug - the first 6 km were along a powerline with sleds whipping by you every once and a while. Once we got to the hut it was all good though. We had no problems finding it despite warnings about how difficult it was to locate. I guess we can attibute that to good directions from this site and good visability. There is a lot of amazing terrain that is accessible right from the hut door. There is also the massive south face of Grassy Mountain that is only a 40 min skin. Unfortunately/fortunately we had a lot of sun while we were there so when we did a rusheblock test on the face we had a failure at 2... back to the trees.
Good food, good terrain, good weather.
but the skin out sucks as much as the skin in - totally worth it though
