Comp - Backcountry Thoughts
As we stand atop the peak overcome with scale, eyes spinning, straining to take in every panorama.
As we immerse ourselves in the forest, lost floating among the pillows and feathers of powder brushing our face.
As we look down the couloir, a bead of cold sweat trickles down our back, not sure if it is born from the nervous excitement or the necessary toil.
Legs heavy from the exertion, heart beating strongly, thoughts alive with excitement. Soul tingling with exhilaration.
Drenched in tiredness but overcome with anticipation of light dry powder.
We look at each other.
Yes it was worth it.
