Photo Comp: First day out
This was from a few weeks ago - while everyone else was franticly chasing the better than usual early season conditions, the snow eluded me as the surf refused to let up. -Groundswell after groundswell, my poor splitboard sat at home while the snow piled up. When the surf eventually let up and I crawled out of the ocean, I realized just how much snow had hit the island, and just how cold it was.
Instead of having weeks under my belt when the lifts started turning, I snuck in a tour the day before heading to Cain for their opening weekend, and was rewarded with an epic line down a nice gully in an area I've never been to before, but have been eyeing from the highway for years.
Somehow this day ended with a beer tasting session, and the following morning at Cain proved to be the best opening day most people can ever remember in terms of coverage and snow quality.
