2010 Mount Baker Splitboard festival
For one weekend in March we will gather together in the Pacific Northwest. We will tour the backcountry, share our stories and maybe even learn a few things about the passion we call Splitboarding.
As you may know, the history of Snowboarding can trace it roots back to the Mt Baker backcountry. So with this rich history in Snowboarding, what would be a better place to hold this event than the Mt Baker area? The backcountry here is vast and will be challenging to every level of rider that will attend this festival. The area is noted for its early snowfalls, deep winter snowpack, and late season riding.
We will be staying at the Mountaineers Lodge which also has a rich history, but in this case, Mountaineering. The Lodge, although modest in amenities, is close to destinations such as Artist Point, Table Mountain, and Herman Saddle. The Lodge has a breathtaking view of Mount Shuksan and is only a five-minute walk from the lifts of Mt Baker Ski area.
