New from Tecnica in Fall 2023
Tecnica, one of our favourite ski touring boot brands has a few big announcements that we thought you’d like to hear about. The first is about the availability of higher volume Cochise Boots, the second is about their ‘Recycle Your Boots’ program and finally there are their new stiffer womens specific Mach 1 MV Boots.Tecnica is always innovating and pushing their products and their new Zero G Peak Carbon Boots are a great example of this. You can read that review here and also be sure to read our reviews of their Cochise 130 DYN GW Boots, the Zero G Tour Scout Womens Boots and their Zero G Tour Pro Boots.
TURN IT UP
Tecnica is expanding their offering in the freeride category with the addition of a high-volume Cochise. Retailers have been asking for the hybrid boot to come in other fits ala Tecnica’s Mach series, and the brand has responded with a 102mm last (the standard Cochise comes in at 99mm). Not only does this answer the need within the hybrid boot category, it also rounds out Tecnica’s fit story with five last options in alpine boots, ranging between 98-103mm.
CIRCLE BACK
Tecnica is continuing to lead the ski boot market in sustainability - first through their Recycle Your Boots (RYB) program, and new for FW23, by introducing recycled materials in their ski boots. The entire Cochise series will include recycled components in much of the liners and trims from materials recycled through the RYB program and other sources. As a performance-driven brand, Tecnica assures these updates don’t negatively affect the boots’ fit, feel, durability, or strength, but they do move the ski boot market closer towards a circular economy.
GIRL POWER
Lady shredders rejoice - Tecnica is adding a 115 flex to the women’s Mach 1 MV series. Previously, a mid-volume skier had to squeeze into low-volume model if she wanted a stiffer boot or settle for a 105 flex in the MV. Now, women with “average” shaped feet will have a boot that can handle their power without landing them in the pain cave.
