A first in the tetons
In such a well travelled zone, it's rare to hear of many "firsts" these days. But earlier this month, a gentleman known to some as Bob the Hammer became the first person with down syndrome to summit the Grand Teton. Joined by his sister, future brother in law, and a team from Climbing Magazine, the team reached the summit via the Owen-Spalding route in a 12 hour push. This is a huge accomplishment and really goes to show that with the right mind set, skill set, and when surrounded by the right people, those with disabilities are capable of great feats.
