Andrew Mcnab and his backyard
We have all heard of the famed slopes of the historical Rogers Pass located in Canada's Glacier National park just east of Revelstoke. A place of great significance to both our country's development and it's modern ski touring culture. I don't think that calling Rogers pass the Yosemite of ski touring to be that much an outlandish statement. Now we all know Rogers pass as stormy, deep and steep. With great tree runs , pillows everywhere and that really cool cabin, just next to that big glacier, in that valley, you know the one. But what really makes Rogers pass such an incredible place is the diversity of terrain options. Andrew Mcnab is a born and raised Revelstoke local and he has spent more than a few days exploring the depths of Glacier National park. With high-speed alpine lines, this ski mountaineer really shows us the side of Rogers pass that we don't often see, big lines and steep faces being skied in sun. This place isn't just for January powder, it's a ski mountaineering paradise with many technical descents still waiting to be made. Check out Andrews short film about skiing in Rogers pass below but do yourself a solid and plan a powder pilgrimage!
