Coast Mountain Epic -- WOW
Has anyone been following this story? The word "epic" gets tossed around a lot these but this is warranted. A mother/daughter team (Martina and Tania Halik) are skiing from Squamish BC to Skagway AK over an "almost incomprehensible amount of mountain terrain." They are calling it the Coast Mountain Epic and it looks like they are getting a hand with gear from our buds at G3, Rab, Arc'teryx and La Sportiva.2,300km, 15 major icefields, 12 large river valleys, 6 months to complete, 1 successful previous completion. I'm not sure which is more epic, the fact that it's a mother and daughter or the terrain they are crossing. The duo have totally dialled in their sharing of the epic--google them up at Coast Mountain Epic and look for them on FB. They have just left Juneau on their way to Skagway--only 215km left. Send them good vibes and follow their last leg.
