FREERIDE WORLD TOUR: 2022 DATES, NEW LOCATION, NEW FORMAT
The 2022 schedule is out! Another epic season of live action, high stakes, steep skiing and snowboarding is set to roll out across five locations this winter. The Freeride World Tour has introduced a new location stop in Spain, which will kick off the tour at the end of January. Then onward to Andorra, Kicking Horse, Austria and finally Switzerland.
Alongside the new stop in Baquiera Beret, the FWT has also made a huge change to their competition scheme with a first time championship format. After Canada, only 26 of the best riders will compete in Austria (which they get the best of 2 runs) and Switzerland, which will keep the suspense high as the world is made to wait for the last stop before winners are determined.
Here’s the schedule:
1. (NEW) Baqueira Beret, Spain: 22 – 28 January 2022
2. Ordino Arcalis, Andorra: 30 January – 5 February 2022
3. Kicking Horse Golden BC, Canada: 12 – 17 February 2022
4. Saalbach Fieberbrunn, Austria: 15 – 20 March 2022
5. Verbier, Switzerland: 26 March – 3 April 2022
