Backcountry photography camp
Come join us at our backcountry photography workshop at the Callaghan Country lodge in the beginning of April. I'm really excited to share some of my ski photography knowledge and techniques in one of the best environments and setups I could imagine! Ryan Kenny and Guy Fattal are passionate about backcountry skiing, snowboarding and photography. Over the past few years they have traveled to some of the worlds snowiest destinations to document the best athletes in pursue of the perfect photograph.
We have worked for years to create our careers in the outdoor industry and now we want to share our knowledge and photography secrets with you whilst helping you develop your own style.
Through the art of storytelling and seeking adventures we aspire to offer a workshop that leaves you as inspired as we are.
Callaghan Country is a unique backcountry, all included lodge nestled in the West Coast mountain range just 90 minutes away from Vancouver and 20 minutes away from Whistler.
The lodge is remote and we will access it by snowmobiles. Once we arrive at the lodge we will enjoy a warm cup of coffee and head out to explore some of the West Coast's finest terrain all to ourselves.
We will provide you with access to ski and shoot photos with some of Whistler's top athletes. You can expect to learn how to work with the athletes and capture them in action in magnificent landscapes. We will teach you how to communicate with the athletes for great success and along with the changing landscape and light opportunities we will show you tactics to getting creative and setting up unique angles for different conditions.
After skiing we will enjoy all the comforts of the lodge including the outdoor wood sauna (the adventuress ones will take a dip in the freezing lake waters to cool off). After a delicious dinner prepared by the lodge chef we will walk out to shoot the stars and tremendous mountainscapes at night.
Throughout the workshop we will share with you our knowledge on working in the outdoor industry as freelancers. How we approach clients, get photos published in magazines and maintain our passion to our work in the days of social media.
