Backcountry Kick Turns
I’ve never been the most flexible person so I’ve always found doing kick turns on the skin track rather awkward especially on tight switchbacks where you essentially need to have both skis pointed in opposite directions for a few seconds. I’ve been working on stretching over the years and it’s better but not great. That’s why I am a fan of the kick turn method of digging your uphill ski under your downhill in order to help with your kick turns. Vibrant Health Evolution has a short video on how to do the kick turn. This method should help alleviate any hip flexor pain too!
