Off-road vehicles banned
With this being the worst fire season BC has seen in nearly 60 years, new measures are being put in place to help avoid more human caused fires. As of August 4th, 3 regions of BC have an active ban on off road vehicles. The ban has two goals, the first being to avoid sparks causing more fires, and the second being to avoid fire crews being interfered with as they work. A map of the areas affected can be seen below, as well as a clarification on what the ban entails as posted by the BC Wildfire Service. To read more about the ban, check out this article, or check out the BC Wildfire Service twitter feed to keep up to date with the situation in BC.
