Our first local skiff
Just a couple days ago we got our first skiff of snow up high on the peaks. Though it may have since been washed away, it signalled (for me anyway) the start of another season. The new forest fire realities here in BC's interior made for a difficult August for many of us. The prospect of a new season and a break from smoke and heat comes just in time. Before you know it, we'll be sliding on snow again.Speaking of which, though most of you, dear readers, may be backcountry purests, the Backcountry Skiing Canada team has been known to make an occasional appearance (often ;o) at Whitewater—our local, lift-assisted hill. That's Ymir peak in the photo. Aaaaaaanyway, if you are considering an early bird pass, and a big discount, now's the time. Shop before September 30, save money and crank up the stoke.
