Extreme Couloir's 2,500 vertical feet of thigh-burning hell now called Saudan Couloir—again
Whistler's infamous Extreme Couloir has a bit of a history. It was once named the Saudan Couloir and due to legal issues had to be changed several years ago, much to the chagrin of locals. The man's name who once adorned this "2,500 vertical feet of thigh-burning hell" is considered by many to be the godfather of extreme skiing. Thanks to some negotiations between Sylvain Saudan and Whistler it looks like his name will once again grace this icon run.Read the full story here.
