Stone Locals
It's easy to get tied up in grades, the suffering or remoteness of climbing. At its surface climbing can appear like a sport for the macho and adrenalin junkies but common climbers know that it's much more than just hard grades and whippers. It's a community. We spend our mornings talking about future adventures, far away or local and personal triumphs and hardships of daily life over a cup of coffee while we wait for the temps to rise. Climbing offers common ground. It's not uncommon for young people to exchange belays with the older and for strangers to become friends, even if it's just for the afternoon. Patagonia's Stone Locals really highlights the sense of community in climbing culture. Watch here, free, now.
