Tune Your Skis for the Backcountry
I have a friend who has never had his skis tuned. He figures why bother tuning them when he doesn’t ski at ski areas very often and when he does he avoids groomers like the plague. Even if you don’t ski in bounds often it’s still a good idea to have your ski bases waxed and your edges sharpened from time to time. Think of skinning along an icy side hill slope, sharp edges are your friend.
