Because sometimes, sledding just isn’t enough.
This is the opinion travelling around Seattle these days. As snowfall hits the city, residents take to their skis and hit the streets. While some cross-country through the downtown parks and golf courses, others aim for steeper pavement or choose to circuit their neighbourhood on alpine touring gear. Many city blocks have been rated in difficulty, just like your local ski hill.
A pop-up terrain park even showed up in the city. Put on by two local teens, the event brought skiers, boarders (and even a kayaker?) out to slide boxes and get some air time. Check out this refreshing read, and scroll down it to see some footage!
