August Powder on Mt Athabasca
Remember the other day when all the ski hills started excitedly posting webcam photos of fresh snow? Well, myself, Trevor Sexsmith of PerpetualSki.ca and Ian Button got it in our heads that there might be powder out in them there hills. So, after leaving Golden at 3am, we swung ice tools in a whiteout for a few hours on Mt. Athabasca's Silverhorn route, summiting the classic 11000er and having ourselves a fantastic alpine powder run on a beautiful glacial feature. Not bad for August if I do say so myself!
