Callaghan Country~ Journeyman Lodge Visit -- Coastal Tour
The Backcountry Skiing Canada team has hit a number of lodges, huts and whatnots over the years, but they have all been in BC’s interior. Our recent trip to the Coast Mountains and Callaghan Country’s Journeyman Lodge was a first.
The season this year has been exceptional all over BC so we were sure there would be plenty of snow. Unfortunately, a whack of the wet kind of precip hit the Callaghan Valley just prior to our arrival. Fortunately, a little “freshener” snowfall fell as we snow catted in and there is sooo much terrain up there that we managed to poke around and find some excellent tours. Thanks in part to Bruno, the hired gun who broke a lot of trail for anyone who followed.

If you are ever in the Callaghan area (just east of Whistler) be sure to stop by the Journeymen for night or two and a X-Country or ski tour. It's a spectacular lodge in a spectacular location.
