When it comes to our ski season here in Canada, well, it's over. Beacons have had their batteries removed for the summer, skis are storage waxed, and the diehards have been reduced to skiing slush patches. It's time for mountain biking, rock climbing… or perhaps sobbing uncontrollably into the photo pages of your favourite ski magazine, while your significant other chastises you for wearing boots in the house again.

Luckily—or perhaps mercifully, depending on how well the previous sentence describes you—the season in South America is just ramping up. The terrain, snow and culture all combine to form an experience that belongs on any skier's bucket list.
