Yamnuska And Area Closed

Alberta Parks has closed the famed Mount Yamuska and surrounding area until further notice. With the increase in popularity over the last years Kananaskis Public safety has seen a huge increase in calls and near misses. Over the past couple of weeks, there have been many close calls with climbing parties almost being struck by significant rockfall from above. Last weekend saw the KPS unit overwhelmed by the volume of calls and included a fatal rockfall incident on the scramble route.

As a temporary solution, access to the area has been closed until further notice.
