Cross Country Splitboarding
My girlfriend is an avid cross-country skier and although I have never done it with the proper equipment, I seized an opportunity to join her on some public trails near our house. I used my backcountry splitboard setup, the Voile Revelator BC without skins to be able to glide along the snow. The Revelator BC has fish scales underfoot to help with low angle climbs and I was able to use it to skate-ski along the trails. Despite a few chirps from some fellow recreationalists about having my beacon on, I was able to keep up with her and our dog without any issues. Of course I had to break my own trail instead of ruining the track set for skinny skis, but it was a great workout and a lot of fun. It doesn’t matter if you’re sliding on skis, snowboards, skates, sleds or shoes, if there is snow on the ground you can have a great time!
