Farmers Almanac forecast: Southern B.C. to experience cold, snowy winter
The Farmers Almanac is a 224-year-old weather forecasting guide that some people swear by. They have recently released their extended forecast for this winter all the way into October 2017. Overall it predicts that southern B.C., from Prince George and Cranbook to Vancouver, will see colder-than-normal temperatures with more precipitation than usual. Good news for skiers after a dismal 2014/15 season and just an average 2015/16 season.
‘The coldest periods will be in early and mid- to late December and mid- to late January, with the snowiest periods in early and mid-December and mid-January. The spring will reach near-normal temperatures and below-normal precipitation” the Almanac states.
Whether or not you give the Farmers Almanac any credibility this is still a great outlook for the coming winter so why not get behind its predictions and get out and buy that seasons ski pass early and get ready for some pow!
