For the love of paddleboarding
Is it just me or are all backcountry skiers fans of paddleboarding? Aside from the "walking on water" sensation, it's a great way to travel. It's as fast as a kayak--in most conditions--and you can easily burn 500 calories in an hour.
As a skier, there are multiple benefits to your core which is called upon for every twisty stroke. Your legs are constantly firing and keeping you balanced. As you get better, the benefits and fun increase. If you live in Hawaii, or somewhere with big swells, you can enter a downwinder race. Oh boy!
If you are a yogi, look no further. If you want to go for a weekend tour, no problema. I remember thinking that paddleboarding looked a little weird when I first saw them. After trying it a couple times, I was a total convert.
