High Pressure plus Temperature Inversion equal Goggle Tans!
A high pressure system is a whirling mass of cool, dry air that generally brings fair weather and light winds. When a temperature inversion occurs, cold air underlies warmer air at higher altitudes. When the two combine it brings spring skiing conditions to the mountains. After logging snowfall on most days in Janurary and not having many blue bird pow days, it has been nice having sunny days this week. This gave many the opportunity to work on their goggle tans, enjoy endless views from ridgetops and ski around resorts in funny costumes. Although these antics are often reserved for spring skiing, it is a nice reminder that although winter is half over, it is winter still and there is alot more snow on the way (fingers crossed).Sunset photo taken from White Queen.
