Marc Andre Leclerc attempts the East Pillar of Torre Egger
If you haven't heard of Marc-Andre Leclerc before then you really should put him on your radar. He is a true mountaineering pioneer and general badass. Being new to the rock climbing community and even newer to the mountaineering community I first picked up his name last April. It was a ridiculous solo summit of Mount Robson , the infinite patience route, and the whole story just screams of pure adventure as I read every word of his blog post. No watch to keep track of time, open air bivouac and a lost lighter. If that has your interest follow the link here for the blog post. It's what I imagine the hard men of time past and how their adventures took place but with modern equipment and modern routes.

Recently down in Patagonia M.A.L just attempted to onsight another serious route in winter conditions. The East Pillar of Torre Egger.

While a quick facebook update is all we have for information at this time, we do know that he made it just a few hundred meters from the summit and was slowed due to poor weather. Hopefully, we will be able to read a detailed blog post soon but until then we can all read his previous adventures at home with sweaty palms. Go Canada.
