Putting the pieces together
Like anything worth doing you need a solid foundation upon which to build or else you are just left with a bunch of pieces that don't really amount to much.
With an early launch of what is likley to be another memorable season for backcountry skiing we all need to ensure that the pieces are in place to have fun and be safe out there. This could mean that all your gear is in tip-top shape or that your lungs and quads are ready for those long skin track ascents. It should also mean that you have your avi skills freshly tuned and you are prepared to go ski touring with all the required knowledge.
Now is the time to start putting the pieces together early to see what shapes up before you head out. If you find you are a few building blocks shy then consider an avi course? The skills are invaluable and they could even save someones life.

Happy trails.
