The popularity of rock climbing has seen steady growth in the last decade and with the recent explosion of climbing gyms those figures have increased dramatically. As with any sport there tends to be certain styles or disciplines within that particular sport. For climbing you could split the sport into four major categories. Sport climbing, traditional climbing , alpine climbing and bouldering. With the number of climbers on the rise the major benefit has been to rapid development of new routes, crags and bouldering areas. Communities are built on like minded individuals gathering and the climbing community is no different. Get driven and dedicated people together and amazing things tend to take place.
