People have been trying to push this developement project through for years and now is a turning point. Like so many of these types of initiatives, the negative impacts seem crystal clear to all but the few proponents. Build an "amusement park" style gondola with hotels, snack bars and walkways at the confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado Rivers? The 65$ million proposal would bring 10,000 people down to the river from above each day. I undertand the draw of improving access for people who wouldn't normally be exposed to environments like this, but, this seems like a really bad idea.
