Spring Skiing... Summer Skiing?
When above average temperatures hit my region in the spring, and a well-developed snowpack reduces itself to patchy, thin layers, I find myself seeking other alternatives. Should I pack my gear and head to the southern hemisphere for the beginning of another winter season? Find other ways to slide down slopes? Or try and convince my local ski hill to try Snowfactory. Not to be confused with the delicious SnowFactory frozen cotton candy, Snowfactory by TechnoAlpin in Italy has developed some of the most advanced snowmaking technology to date. They have created a system to make snow no matter what the ambient temperatures are. All you need is a power and water source and bingo; you’re skiing all summer long. Is it too good to be true? Could be. Snowfactory is designed to work with and compliment traditional snowmaking systems… but we can dream.
