Think small. Microadventure video.
The notion of a microadventure isn't new–perhaps this Brit, Alastair Humphreys, is just the first guy to name it and popularize the concept. The simple idea is to get outside and spend at least a night (ideally under the stars). It doesn't have to be far from home, it doesn't have to involve a lot of logistics and gear.
Here's a quote from a NYT article that I thought was interesting. Perhaps it's more relevant to folks in the US but there's still some truth for we Canadians. Alastair says:
One challenge is that Americans tend to worry more about the legality of things like sleeping on a hill, or the presence of rattlesnakes and people with guns. But Americans perhaps even more than Brits need to get out of the office because they work so many hours. Plus, America has so much empty space and beauty.
