We just flew in from Utah and boy are our arms tired
The Backcountry Skiing Canada team recently headed south to Utah for the Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake. The show was a mind-blowing mix of new gear, like-minded people and, thankfully, beer at 4:00 each day. We were very diligent in shooting videos of many of the new products we thought you all would enjoy. Stay tuned as we'll be posting a new gear vid everyday couple of days.
We also managed to fit in a few days skiing on either end. In order--Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, Alta Ski Area, Brighton Ski Resort, Solitude Mountain Resort and, last but by-no-means- least, Powder Mountain Resort. We'll also be putting together a trip report/article on our experience at these resorts so look for that too. We didn't get into the backcountry quite as much as we would have liked but we came back alive, which was good.
Here's a vid of the conditions that kept us, for the most part, out of the Utah backcountry.
The new line-up from Arc'teryx
Goodies from G3. Stay tuned for a video on the 2012/13 skis.
Here's proof that we made it into the backcountry. The classic wind-rip atop Pow Mow.
