Bow Peak
Skied in the east facing bowls under Bow Peak, just south of the Bow Peak couloir. Didn’t have the cojones to venture up into the couloirs itself. There was 5 or 10 new overnight that had been sloughing out of the steep terrain and may have pick up a thin surface slab in one place that we could see. There was a light north wind blowing that was producing a soft surface slab on wind exposed aspects. We dug a pit a tree line and did not get any results other than the obvious shear of the mid pack off of the facets at and 1 meter. Another group in the area got an easy compression test at 30cm and another one in the midpack at about 70cm on a slightly different slope. Hey it the Rockies it changes every 10 feet. Skiing was really good at and around tree line I think anything really exposed in the alpine might be a different story.
