Gimli Ridge Peak

Hiking to the peak of Gimli Ridge is really quite the experience. There’s steep snow trekking, rock scrambling and many points where the words “oh god, don’t look down” are uttered. What you face depends on the time of year of course, but no matter what, prepare for adventure.







Our route cut through the meadow near the middle of the creek. We had to walk across snow which would have been impossible if not for our handy sunglasses. It was also quite cloudy and still we all burnt so remember to sunscreen up before you leave the house!





It adds an extra hour or so to your total trip if you mean to reach the peak. there are nicely marked cairns that help guide the way, but miss em’ and you’ll end up like us, adding on several extra hours and a lot more scrapes and bruises.
