Kokanee Glacier
Kokanee Glacier park has a ton of beautiful hiking trails ranging from easy to advanced difficulties. Recently I trekked up to the first lake, just 2 hours from the parking lot which proved to be a very relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
On the way, my group and I ran into dozens of Pikas and Marmots. They’ll allow you to get really close, but it’s important to remember that they are wild animals and you wouldn’t want your trip cut short because of a little bite!
The first lake is quite serine, with a thin waterfall trickling down the opposite side making for a great picnic spot. The bugs can get quite bothersome though so I’d consider packing bug spray or a long sleeved shirt.
