Lucifer Peak

Lucifer Peak is at an impressive 7,831 feet. Found in the Valhalla Provincial Park just above Gwillim lake, the trail to reach it is rated as intermediate and calls for excellent footwear.  





I recommend camping at Gwillim and then starting the trek early in the morning. This way you’re sure to get back down in daylight, and still have plenty of time to relax at the top. After the first steep climb, you’ll find yourself in a neat little meadow with a wonderful view. There’s also a small stream to refill water if needed.

The hike will keep you working hard, whether you’re scrambling on all fours, leaping from large rocks or hanging on for dear life while stretching from one cliffs edge to the next. Once you reach the peak though, the 360 view of endless mountains really makes it worth while.
