Soap Box Comp: More Clear Cut Love
At the end of my Christmas break, my dad and I went for a short little tour, mostly for the sake of just getting out on the skins. We drove to the bottom of a cut block just outside of Burton, BC and started up. Our expectations were not high especially once we actually got going. The trees were a little bigger (or the snow was a little smaller) than we hoped, but we were just out for fun. After about 10 zigzags up, the pitch dropped off a bit and dusk wasn't far away so we dug a quick pit. Only about a metre of snow, with a loose layer 15 cm down as well as the ground layer. The few short turns down were actually pretty nice and the trees weren't as dense as they felt going up. We cut up a few lengths of firewood at the bottom and headed home feeling great.
For all the "GoPro" haters - it was filmed with a Contour.
