Black Prince area

Toured in the Black Prince area today, Dec-27. The Chinook was given’r  with strong winds right to the valley bottom. Lots of snow loading going on in the alpine and at tree line with stiff slabs forming a ways down into the trees anywhere the wind could get at it. I’d be pretty of chicken of any place that’s had a bunch of snow dumped into it, especially at ridge line. Wind, warm temps, new snow… mmmm. The snowpack caries right to the valley bottom and trail breaking’s not too bad. There’s lots of pungi sticks but it’s still December. If you can find someplace sheltered the sliding is good, despite what I made it sound like here.
