20cm of snow fell yesterday and came in with rapidly rising temperatures which created a touchy storm slab and resulted in a widespread avalanche cycle. Avalanche Canada is calling the current hazard Considerable.
With all the new snow over the past few months, tree wells have become a real hazard so remember to ski with a buddy and give trees a wide birth.
We are in for a couple of days of high pressure, so be cautious of solar aspects as the sun and warm temps can have a dramatic effect on the snow. 5-10cm of snow is forecasted to arrive Sunday so enjoy the current sunshine but don't let it influence your decision-making—be safe out there.
