Avalanche Conditions Report #6 VIDEO
Whitewater Ski Resort’s Host with the most ‘Dave’ from ski patrol wants you to know about the recent 30cm that fell in the past week and has buried the January 30th surface hoar layer and the January 14th melt-freeze crust. These will be worth watching over the coming weeks as well as the wind slabs in the alpine and at tree line.
There has been some natural activity in the past few days with a size One avalanche in Ymir Bowl and a size Two skier accidental on Whales Back. Also, keep in mind that the December 4th persistent weak layer is now down about 160cms.
Skiing is really great right now with the new snow but be sure to be safe out there!
