Avalanche Conditions Report - VIDEO
How quickly things can change. We went from deep pow to wind scoured and dense slab instability in a matter of hours. Two surface hoar layers were likely blown away in the Alpine and high Treeline locations but they persisted below these elevations. The wind also created a highly variable distribution of dense wind slab covered by the latest storm which dumped 50cm of snow in a 48 hour period. While the skiing was outstanding the wind returned to create another significant wind event that formed new wind slabs and blew much of the latest low density snow away.
